CW with straight key

Hello all,
I had never tested the Mchf with a straight key before, but now realize it can't be done. There seems to be some sort of delay (Stays keyed) when you push the key, it sends a several millisecond dah.
Now when I put the radio into SSB mode, you can use the PTT button on the mic and no delay, the PTT can act like a Str Key.
Is there somewhere in the software to eliminate the DAH effect?
