Title: USB Keyboard
Post by: WD8BXS on 27. April 2020, 23:39:08

I have a Rii mini X1 bluetooth keyboard, and it does not work with my mcHF..
I thought that it used to work, or am i imagining that??

Should it work? has something changed?

Thanks, 73
Chuck

If it is BLUETOOTH: no chance. If it is WIRELESS and has a receiver which identifies as keynoard or HID: I think it will work.

Sorry, it is not bluetooth, my mistake.
It is just a wireless keyboard.
I thought that it was recommended my you sometime ago. I may be wrong, I am old and the memory fails me at times.

Here is a picture of it maybe it will be recognized.

Yes, this one works out-of-the-box and perfectly.

I thought that is did at one time, but it is not working on the mchf.. I have tried it on 2 different mchf radios but no go.

It works on my desktop computer, so I know the keyboard is working ok

I have 5v at UBS connector, but it will not connect.
Any ideas?

Tnx, 73 Chuck

I have two of this and they work on mcHF and OVI40. Only explanation is they have changed the behaviour of the USB dongle so that is no longer compatible with UHSDR. But I do not have a keyboard of this kind that does not work...

This an older unit, I bought it when I first was that it was compatible.
I have to assume that there is an issue with the mcHF radios I have here as to why it will not work.

It would seem that if the dongle has power it should communicate with the keyboard.

I am not getting the yellow connect LED.

The yellow connect LED will turn on if the dongle is provided with 5V supply. No ned for any communication on the two USB DATA pins. If the yellow connect LED will not turn on maybe the 5V are not 5V but 4.5V or your keyboard is malfunctioning...

Praise the Lord, it is working now, Andreas, all you had to do was think about it!
You are magic.

Thanks,
Chuck
