Title: No Audio
Post by: WD8BXS on 06. March 2018, 02:15:14
I am using an mchf RF board, and I have no audio, I see nowhere on the JP1 for 12 volts to the audio amp. How do I get 12 volts to the audio amp please?
I also see NO signals!!
The rf board works fine with the mchf UI Board
Any More ideas?? |

Hi,
yes, the 12V are not easily accessible on the mcHF RF board via a pin header. You will need to solder a cable. You can use a Dupont cable with a female end (cutoff other end), and solder an 1 pin angled header on the UI board. It is not ideal but at least you can easily disconnect things and use the same RF board with the mcHF UI with risking a short.

Or just use only the LINE OUT audio connector for testing (no need to supply the audio PA with 12V) and adjust the line out audio level in the setup to max before. Otherwise the larger PCB track around the loudspeaker cutout between 10 and 12 o'clock on the mcHF RF board has 12V. You can track this PCB track down to one of the components for soldering or solder a wire directly onto the track for the 12V supply of the audio PA section. The wire leads through thls hole to the RF board underneath.
