Heute habe ich die Onlineverfügbarkeiten und Preise mehrerer renommierter Distributoren gesichtet. Ich kaufe nur bei solchen, weil Qualität eine deutlich höhere Priorität hat als der Preis. Sollten bei einigen Posten Lieferzeiten entstehen, weiche ich auf andere Distributoren aus. Eine schnelle Verfügbarkeit hat wiederum eine höhere Priorität als ein geringerer Preis.
Im Anschluss findet ihr die Kalkulation, die für die erste Bestellrunde gilt. Ich werde keine größeren Stückzahlen von PCBs / Teilesätzen "ans Lager legen". Vielmehr werde ich in zyklischen Abständen nachbestellen und liefere dann "just-in-time" aus. Nach ersten Auskünften der zeitkritischsten Lieferanten (PCBs...) sollten diese ab Bestelleingang spätestens nach 3 Wochen bei mir sein. Im Weihnachts-Versandgeschäft kann es zu unkalkulierbaren zusätzlichen Verzögerungen kommen.

I have digged through many distributor pages this day. 1) I only will use recommended suppliers with good known quality. 2) If there is no stock I prefer to choose another supplier than waiting some weeks or months. Following you can see the calculation for the first ordering batch. I do not stock PCBs / Kits. I will place new orders every time the amount of orders is big enough and will work just-in-time. Processing times of the time-intensive parts (PCBs...) will be ~3 weeks. x-mas traffic may delay shipping - I cannot tell that exactly.

Das Standard-LCD für den OVI40 wird das 3.5" @480x320. Aber ich kann leider nicht garantieren, dass es bis Weihnachten verfügbar sein wird. Deswegen kann zum Testen auch das 3.2" LCD genommen werden - das gibt es "von der Stange". Es muss aber später durch das 3.5" LCD ersetzt werden!

Standard-LCD for OVI40 will be 3.5" @480x320. I try my best but cannot guarantee that it will be available before xmas. For the ones who want to test before xmas 3.2" LCD is already available but must be replaced later by 3.5" LCD.

Besonderheiten bezüglich Steuern / informations about taxes:

Wer von innerhalb Deutschlands / der EU bestellt muss auf die Preise noch die Mehrwertsteuer draufrechnen (x 1.19). In dem Fall gibt es keine zusätzlichen Kosten durch eine Verzollung (europäischer Binnenmarkt).
Wer von außerhalb dieser Zonen bestellt sieht von meiner Seite aus die Endbeträge - allerdings wird die Sendung noch vom Zoll bearbeitet und es kommen noch Zollgebühren drauf die vom jeweiligen Staat festgelegt werden.
Jetzt habt ihr schon mal einen Überblick über die Preise für die OVI40 UI in allen ihren derzeitig verfügbaren Versionen. Später wird es mit der RF-Platine (und deren Modulen) sowie den Gehäusen weitergehen.
Solange die RF-Platine noch nicht verfügbar ist könnt ihr die OVI40 UI PCB mit jeder mcHF RF Platine <=0.6 betreiben. Die OVI40 UI ist abwärtskompatibel mit der 30p Leiste dieser RF Platinen.

If you order from Germany or from inside EU you must add 19% taxes to the complete amount. In this case there are no additional customs declaration because of harmonized EU regulations.
If you order from outside EU (e.g. Switzerland, USA) the amounts are finished from my point - but you will have to pay additional taxes ahich will be added at customs declaration of your country.
Now you do have an idea of the price of the OVI40 UI in all available versions. Later RF PCB (and their modules) and cases will follow.
As long as RF PCB is not available you can use OVI40 UI with every mcHF RF PCB whichs version is 0.6 or older. OVI40 UI is fully backward compatible to 30p header of these rf PCBs.
How does it continue / Wie geht es weiter?

I will start preordering at 12/05/2017. "Preordering" means you do pay an amount (which depends on the version you want) at preodering via PayPal. I'll wait until batch amount is completed and the I will start orders. If I got everything and I am ready for shipping you pay outstanding rest (depending on version) and then I ship it to your address providing parcel tracking.
Of course I add an invoice with correct listed parts.

Die Vorbestellungen werden am 05.12. starten. Mit "Vorbestellungen" ist gemeint, dass ihr einen bestimmten Betrag bezahlt (hängt von der bestellten Ausführung ab) und ich diese Vorbestellungen sammle, bis sich die Stückzahl für eine Bestellung rechnet. Dann bestelle ich die Sachen und wenn sie bei mir versandbereit sind bekommt ihr eine Nachricht und die Höhe der Abschlusszahlung. Wenn diese bei mir eingegangen ist versende ich das Paket. Beim Versand gibt es noch einen Paketverfolgungslink.
Selbstverständlich liegt jedem Paket eine steuerlich korrekte Rechnung bei.

If preordering starts there will appear a new webpage on amateurfunk-sulingen.de. It will contain forms and pulldown menues for ordering.
Wenn die Vorbestellungen losgehen wird es eine eigene Webseite geben mit entsprechenden Formularen.

Hallo Andreas,
Das BOM File existiert zu der aktuellen UI die Du dann verschickst, oder entspricht es genau der 1.7 die wir im Betatest gebaut haben?
Vereinfacht gesagt, gibt’s Änderungen auf dem Board gegenüber der Beta 1.7?
Ich habe noch viele Bauteile hier herumliegen vom mcHF und einige werde ich wieder verwenden können.

I have a proposal if you consider is good:
To avoid problems like mchf have it (out of stock),
where two or three guys buy so many boards to solder they,
and sell it after that like a complete transceiver, then others need to wait months
or is forced to buy from that "clever guys"; I think is fair (at least for beginning)
to sell just one kit for call-sign.. |

The next weeks development of RF PCB will be finished. Then alpha- and betatesting phases of PCBs (yes: there will be more than one because of its design is modular) will take place. After that two different konds of cases will be designed: one for portable use and one for stationary use. Our webpages and discussion group will keep you informed.
@Alex:
My way of distributing is other than the mentioned:
I will:
- first collect preorders
- if the minimum amount is reached I will order PCBs for exact the ones that have placed preorders
- manufacturing turnaround is about 3 weeks (it is here in Germany after 3 weeks!!)
- PCBs and kits will be delivered then, complete assembled PCBs can take 7...10 days longer.
So there is no possibility of "sold out" for a longer period. Time from placing a preorder to shipping from here depends only on the amount of preorders. If there are too low orders I must wait some days. We will see ::)

Hi Pete!
Will the I40_ui-Board fit the chinese case?
The outer dimensions of the I40-ui are the same like the ui_V04 - V06 from Chris, BUT :
- the cutout for the Display is much larger (could filed bigger)
- the positions of the tune encoder and the step- button have moved a little bit (no problem)
- there are 2 new elements on the ui-board (no problem with a little bit drilling)
- due to the bigger display cutout the F1 - F5 buttons have been moved downwards (that is the problem, the rubber buttons of the chinese case will not fit any longer)
- the 3,2" or the 3,5" display is a little bit thicker than the 2,8" display (perhaps manageable with direct soldering the display an the board -brrr)
On the attached picture i have put the chinese front cover over the I40_V1.7_ui board. I hope, you can see the problem with F1 - F5. |

Thank you for the information on the case.
I have been following the discussions and progress of the UI OVI40 board and realized the current Chinese case top cover would not fit the new 3.5" display nor any button re-positioning. That is why I asked the question.
It seems there is the possibility of a re-designed top cover to allow for the changes and to fit the existing Chinese case. However, that may not be productive depending on the OVI40 development roadmap.
It is hard to be patient but I will try. :) In the meantime I may order the new UI board to play with my existing mcHF but without using the cover.
